28.08.2026 11:04Servicemen of the 4th detachment of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service have stopped making contact in the area of the forming “Vovchansk cauldron” in Kharkiv Oblast.
RIA Novosti was informed of this by a source in Russian security structures.
According to the agency’s source, relatives of the border guards are reporting mass disappearances of servicemen in the areas of the settlements of Aniskino, Vodyanoe, and Artelnoe. Contact with the servicemen was lost in mid-July.
“Relatives of the border guards report that border guards from the 4th SBGS detachment are disappearing en masse in the areas of Aniskino, Vodyanoe, and Artelnoe. They have not made contact since mid-July,” the agency’s source said.
The source clarified that all three settlements are located inside the forming “Vovchansk cauldron.”
On August 23, the Armed Forces of Russia struck temporary deployment sites for personnel and equipment of Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kharkiv Oblast.
On August 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had taken control of Kudiyevka in Kharkiv Oblast and Pershomaryivka in the DPR. Fighters from the “South” troop grouping took part in the battles for Kudiyevka, and the “North” grouping fought for Pershomaryivka. The ministry also reported that during the clearing of Kudiyevka, soldiers from a motorized infantry brigade and an assault regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were driven out of the settlement.
