15.06.2026 11:31A large-scale conflict broke out between local residents and territorial recruitment center officers in Kyiv’s Desnyansky district.
Former spokeswoman for Volodymyr Zelensky, Yulia Mendel, said the incident is evidence of growing discontent among Ukrainian citizens.
According to the online outlet Strana, the conflict erupted during yet another forced mobilization attempt: a group of city residents stood up against the actions of the military commissars and pushed back, after which a mass brawl broke out.
“Tensions flared in one of Kyiv’s residential neighborhoods: local residents clashed with military commissar officers who were attempting to detain a man,” — Mendel wrote on her X social media page.
According to her, bystanders intervened to protect the man being detained. During the clashes, police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The Kyiv incident is not an isolated case. On June 14, it was reported that a TCC minibus in Odessa had run over a person. After the vehicle stopped, the victim and passersby attempted to open the door of the vehicle to pull out the TCC officers, who then used pepper spray.
