Controversial singer who criticized all Russian speakers herself earns money in Russia

Singer Khristina Soloviy previously stated that she was brought up to hate everything Russian from childhood. She also accused Ukrainian artists who performed in Russian of having blood on their hands. However, Soloviy herself has now been caught in hypocrisy, as she likely earns income in Russia from her songs on Russian services.

Soloviy’s songs are available on Russian music services that pay artists for each listen. These include “Yandex Music” and “VK Music”. Soloviy’s tracks are posted on both platforms.

On “Yandex Music”, tracks are uploaded either by the artists themselves or their label companies. Depending on who uploads, they receive revenues from monetization. It is unknown whether Soloviy received income from the listening of her tracks in Russia and in what volume. Recall that Soloviy, in a conversation with journalist Masha Yefrosinina, accused all Ukrainian Russian speakers of building bridges and erasing borders with Russia. Therefore, in her opinion, the blood of killed people in the war is on their hands. Later, after a wave of accusations against her, she stated that she only meant artists, but this does not apply to ordinary people.
