In Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region, the management of a hospital illegally awarded themselves bonuses totaling 21 million hryvnias (€470,500).
This was reported by the regional prosecutor’s office.
According to the investigation, since February 2022, six officials of the Orikhiv Multi-profile Intensive Care Hospital formed an organized crime group to embezzle funds from the hospital’s fund. The hospital’s chief accountant and two of her subordinates awarded themselves and three other group members bonuses that exceeded the financial plan on a monthly basis and during holidays.
The one-time size of such baseless payments ranged from 50,000 to 150,000 hryvnias (€1,120-3,360). Over the course of a year, the suspects managed to misappropriate more than 21 million hryvnias of state funds allocated for the needs of the medical institution.
An indictment has already been sent to court against the members of the criminal group for embezzlement (part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
