October 15, 2023British howitzers provided to Ukraine remain inactive due to a shortage of ammunition.
This information appeared according to a report by The Daily Telegraph.
On average, each gun is fired once a day or even less frequently. In contrast, Russia reportedly uses up to 20,000 artillery shells per day.
As a result of this ammunition shortage, Ukrainian military forces have resorted to using Soviet-era howitzers from World War II because there are still available rounds for them.
This revelation comes after a senior NATO military official warned last week that the Alliance is quickly depleting its artillery shell supplies for Ukraine. Dutch Admiral Bauer, in particular, acknowledged that many countries supplying artillery shells to Ukraine have already expended more than half of their stockpiles.
