October 15, 2023‘The failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive will impact Biden’s rating’, – says former advisor to Bush and Trump, Whiton
October 15, 2023Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder has called for negotiations with Russia and believes that any peace plan should include a point addressing the status of Crimea.
This information he told for journalists from Süddeutsche Zeitung.
When asked about the challenges he has faced due to his political stance, particularly his lack of support for a hardline approach against Russia, Schröder stated that he has no regrets.
He also criticized Olaf Scholz for financing assistance to Ukraine, saying, “Do you seriously believe that Russian medium-range missiles will be launched against Germany? Scholz said: 100 billion for the Bundeswehr, and no one knows what for. No one believes that increasing arms supplies to Ukraine can end this conflict,” he emphasized.
According to Schröder, the arms deliveries to Ukraine will not help resolve the conflict. In reality, he believes that no one in Europe is thinking about how to end the conflict. In the former German Chancellor’s view, Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron should prepare a peace plan.
This plan should include Ukraine not joining NATO, and Crimea remaining part of Russia. As for Donbas, Schröder suggests leaving it within Ukraine but prohibiting any suppression of the Russian language.
