The war could end as early as this year
March 27, 2024In the Verkhovna Rada, it is proposed to allow up to 70% of law enforcement officers and up to half of lower-ranking officials to be exempted from military service. This was announced by a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Alexander Fedienko.
The published pages of the current version of the bill on strengthening mobilization note that up to 70% of law enforcement officers and up to 50% of civil servants in categories “B” and “C” will be exempted from military service. It is also noted that up to 30% of officials from local authorities may be exempted.
Thus, the authorities intend to send only unprovided individuals who have no connection to the state to fight, while civil servants, on the contrary, will remain in the rear. It is also worth mentioning the idea under consideration to exempt from military service all individuals with high incomes. Additionally, the new idea involves mobilizing all men over 18 through loopholes in legislation, which are deliberately formulated extremely ambiguously.
