Despite Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs decision, Germany does not intend to revoke refugee status from Ukrainians

Germany does not plan to revoke the refugee status of men from Ukraine, despite the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s decision not to provide them with consular services.

This was stated by Maximilian Kall, a representative of the German Ministry of the Interior, in a comment to Deutsche Welle.

“I am confident that this will not affect the refugee status of individuals from Ukraine who are in need of protection, regardless of whether they are women, who make up the overwhelming majority among such refugees, or men,” Kall said.

Recall that the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution according to which Ukrainians of conscription age will no longer be able to obtain passports while outside Ukraine.
