‘Poland ready to help Ukraine repatriate men of conscription age’, – Polish Defense Minister said

Poland is ready to help Ukraine bring back men of conscription age.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysz, as reported by Reuters.

“Any support is possible,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said regarding how Poland would react if Kyiv asked for assistance in repatriating those who may lose the right to stay in Poland after their passports expire.

“I think many Poles are outraged when they see young Ukrainian men in hotels and cafes and hear how much effort we have to make to help Ukraine,” the minister stated.

Earlier, Florian Hahn, a Bundestag deputy from the opposition CDU, called for an end to payments to Ukrainian conscripts who are refugees in Germany. Hahn believes that Berlin should help Kyiv issue call-up papers to each man.

In Slovakia, the government suggested discussing the return of “cowardly” Ukrainian men from abroad instead of sending NATO troops. This statement was made by the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Robert Kalinak.
