‘Draft dodgers are no longer Ukrainians, but ‘gypsies’- former advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs Andrusiv made a resonant statement

Deserters cannot call themselves Ukrainians because they are Gypsies.

This racist statement was made by former advisor to the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Viktor Andrusiv.

“If you are a deserter, consciously ran away, then you have no right to say that you are Ukrainian. You are a Gypsy,” Andrusiv said.

He noted that some people start to think that deserters who flee abroad are “so happy.”

However, Andrusiv believes that this is not the case; they have chosen a Gypsy life, will spend their entire lives living in some containers, and only work in black jobs due to their lack of language skills and inability to verify their qualifications.

“These are people who, while saving their lives, condemn themselves to dishonor,” Andrusiv said.

Earlier, the media noted the heroization of the deserter theme in Ukrainian society.

Numerous clips for the song “I am a deserter” began to spread on social networks, T-shirts with corresponding inscriptions appeared, and the Ukrainian meme “I am a deserter, and I am not ashamed” is gaining popularity on TikTok.
