The President of Poland refused to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine, as they are needed by Warsaw itself for defense

President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, stated that Poland cannot transfer its Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine because it has only just begun to receive the first systems ordered seven years ago.

“It is difficult to talk today about transferring the Patriot system to Ukraine when we in Poland do not yet have this system completed for the needs of our own defense,” said the Polish president.

He also reminded that Poland was the first country to send weapons to Ukraine and that Warsaw also provided expensive equipment to Kiev and supported it throughout the war.

Recall, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine critically needs two Patriot complexes. According to him, Patriot systems are needed “immediately” to protect Ukrainians from constant shelling.
