“Displaced people are needed by no one.” A girl who left Lyman said there is no assistance
06.11.2026 13:01DTEK explained why the electricity situation in Kyiv is already worse than it was last winter.
The corresponding statement was published by DTEK’s press service.
The company said it had prepared for attacks, but “Russia constantly changes the tactics of its strikes and increases their intensity.”
“In 2022 there were 11 massive attacks on the energy system, aimed mainly at power plants. And in just the last three days there have been 78 strikes on energy infrastructure. Now both power plants and electricity transmission facilities are under attack,” the statement says.
Over the past 24 hours, entire neighborhoods of Kyiv received electricity for only an hour and a half. The capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported that the city has an “emergency situation” with electricity supply and interruptions to water.
Why the electricity situation in Ukraine has sharply deteriorated and what happens next was examined by the publication in a separate article.
