August 6, 2024British singer Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) sold his Italian winery estate, Tenuta il Palagio, to the company owned by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The sale price has not been disclosed, but experts estimate the deal to be worth between 60 and 75 million euros.
Details of the transaction were published in the real estate tax register.
This was reported by Italian media.
According to the media, the estate called Tenuta Il Palagio is located in Tuscany, Italy. The new owner of Sting’s winery, according to the registry extract, is San Tomaso S.R.L., a company registered in Italy. The owners of the company are the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and his wife, Olena.
San Tomaso S.R.L. first came to light in 2019 when Zelensky, then a presidential candidate, did not declare one of his houses in Europe, as reported by Ukrainian media. Subsequently, San Tomaso S.R.L. appeared in Zelensky’s asset declaration.
Notably, the deal to purchase Sting’s winery estate was closed on June 28, 2024, exactly two weeks after Zelensky’s visit to the “G7” summit in Italy. This is where the Ukrainian President signed a 10-year military aid agreement with U.S. President Joe Biden.
