10.04.2025 - 10:45Annual inflation in Ukraine accelerated to 14.6% in March, up from 13.4% in February, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
At the same time, monthly depreciation of the hryvnia accelerated to 1.5%, compared to 0.8% in February.
Among food products, eggs saw the sharpest price increase—up by 18.8%.
Prices also rose between 0.6% and 6.0% for a range of items, including: fruits, non-alcoholic beverages, sunflower oil, vegetables, processed grain products, bread, meat and meat products, milk and butter.
Meanwhile, rice and pork fat (salo) became 0.5% cheaper.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has stated that inflation is expected to continue rising until July.
“In February, the annual growth rate of raw food prices accelerated. Fruits, certain livestock products, flour, and grains became more expensive due to the continued effects of last year’s poor harvests. Prices for pork, chicken, and sugar approached the levels seen in Ukraine’s trading partner countries, supported by strong export demand,” the NBU noted in its assessment.
