In the run-up to the vote on aid to Ukraine in the US Senate, American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk urged Americans to influence their senators to reject the bill.
Musk made this statement in a conversation with Republican senators, published in X.
“These expenditures do not help Ukraine. Prolonging the war will not help Ukraine,” Musk stated.
The businessman also claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin “will by no means” allow Russia to lose the war in Ukraine. According to Musk, pressure is being exerted on the Russian president from within the country to ensure that he sees the war through to the end.
“For those who want a change of regime in Russia, they should consider who the person is that could overthrow Putin, and whether that person could be a pacifist. Maybe not,” Musk said, speculating that such a person would be “even more ruthless than Putin.”
However, Elon Musk denies sympathizing with Putin.
