Empty shelves in supermarkets in Kyiv and Lviv: shortage of flour, grains, and oil

Kyiv stores Novus and ATB are reporting empty shelves and the absence of a number of food products. Following the capital, food shortages have spread to Lviv as well — local community pages are publishing video footage from retail outlets.

According to local community pages, residents have already bought out potatoes, grains, vegetables, and sunflower oil. Finding these goods in the city is becoming increasingly difficult. Shortages of flour are particularly noticeable.

Footage published from Lviv stores shows the disappearance of a number of popular products and well-known brands, and the range of several product categories has shrunk significantly.

The food supply disruptions began after Russian strikes on commercial warehouses. The ATB supermarket chain publicly confirmed a shortage of goods and the introduction of purchase limits. Western media are also reporting on shortages of essential goods in Ukraine in connection with the strikes on warehouses.
