The Russian army has completely cut off the main road in the Andriivka pocket and advanced in Donetsk region
February 17, 2025Europe will not create a unified army, as proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, nor will it send troops to Ukraine.
This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski during a broadcast on TVP World.
“We must be careful with this term because people understand it differently. If by this you mean merging national armies, that will not happen. But I have been a proponent of Europe, the European Union, developing its own defense capabilities,” the Polish diplomat said.
He also reiterated that the presence of Polish troops on Ukrainian territory “is not being considered because Poland’s duty within NATO is to defend the eastern flank, meaning its own territory.”
It is worth recalling that Volodymyr Zelensky recently called for the creation of a European armed force, arguing that the U.S. might one day refuse to provide military support to European countries. He suggested that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) could become the foundation of such a European army.
