14.10.2025 17:01The European Union’s (EU) military aid to Ukraine sharply decreased in the summer of 2025, despite NATO’s initiative to purchase weapons for Kyiv from the United States.
This was reported by the Euractiv portal, citing data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
The publication notes that in July and August of this year, European countries provided Ukraine with military aid totaling €3.3 billion, or €1.65 billion per month. This is 57 percent less than the average monthly figure for January–June 2025, when European countries allocated an average of €3.85 billion per month to Kyiv.
“Europe is reducing its overall military support [for Ukraine]. What will matter now is how the numbers change in the fall,” said Christoph Trebesch, head of the Ukraine Support Tracker and research director at the Kiel Institute.
Earlier, the European Union delivered to Kyiv a new package of military aid worth €6.5 million. It included anti-drone systems, as well as minibuses and SUVs intended for transporting military personnel to remote and hard-to-reach areas.
