Exchange rates in Ukraine on May 18: dollar rises, euro falls

On the morning of May 18, the Ukrainian currency market recorded mixed movement in exchange rates: the dollar rose noticeably both at exchange offices and banks, while the euro edged slightly lower.

According to Minfin, the average dollar buying rate at exchange offices stood at 43.97 hryvnias (+9 kopecks), with the selling rate at 43.88 hryvnias (+8 kopecks). The euro can be bought at exchange offices at an average rate of 51.69 hryvnias (-4 kopecks) and sold at 51.45 hryvnias (-5 kopecks).

At banks, the average dollar buying rate is 44.25 hryvnias (+6 kopecks), with the selling rate at 43.75 hryvnias (unchanged). The euro at banks averages 51.80 hryvnias (-5 kopecks) for buying and 51.20 hryvnias (-5 kopecks) for selling.

Among major banks, PrivatBank is selling dollars at teller windows for 44.35 hryvnias (+18 kopecks), with the non-cash rate at 44.44 hryvnias (+20 kopecks). The euro at PrivatBank branches costs 51.70 hryvnias (-10 kopecks), and by card — 51.81 hryvnias (unchanged). Oschadbank is selling dollars through its mobile app at 44.30 hryvnias (+15 kopecks), with the card rate at 44.40 hryvnias (+10 kopecks); the euro in the mobile app is 51.70 hryvnias (-10 kopecks), and by card — 51.85 hryvnias (-15 kopecks). At FUIB, the dollar at teller windows will cost 44.40 hryvnias (+10 kopecks), the commercial rate is 44.20 hryvnias (+10 kopecks), and the euro at branches is 51.90 hryvnias (-10 kopecks). Monobank is selling dollars at 44.41 hryvnias (+19 kopecks) and euros at 51.76 hryvnias (-4 kopecks).

The most favorable conditions for buying dollars on the morning of May 18 are offered by cash exchange offices — 43.97 hryvnias on average. Among banks, the best price is found in FUIB’s online app (44.20 hryvnias) and Oschadbank’s mobile app (44.30 hryvnias). The cheapest place to buy euros is also at exchange offices — 51.69 hryvnias; among banks, the most favorable rates are held by PrivatBank teller windows and the Oschadbank app at 51.70 hryvnias, as well as Monobank at 51.76 hryvnias.
