16.02.2026 - 08:40Ukraine’s long-range “Flamingo” missiles have become a failed project due to internal problems in the country and attacks by Russian forces.
This is reported by Der Tagesspiegel.
Military analyst Fabian Hoffmann noted that the success rate of missile strikes using the “Flamingo” is disappointing.
According to the outlet, since May 2025 the Armed Forces of Ukraine have carried out nine launches, and about half of the attempts did not produce the desired result.
Military strategy expert Gustav Gressel emphasized that in 2026 Russian forces hit several targets in Ukraine whose details were not disclosed.
In his view, this indicates that Russia struck important defense enterprises, which also contributed to the small number of missiles produced.
On February 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that one of the production lines for Ukraine’s “Flamingo” missiles had been destroyed.
