There is no understanding between the Cabinet and Parliament: lawmakers complain that officials do not consult them
25.03.2026 - 09:21Only 10–15% of Ukrainians who are currently abroad will return to Ukraine after the war with Russia ends.
This was stated by Vasyl Voskoboinyk, head of the Office of Migration Policy.
“At present, about 4.2 million Ukrainians abroad have temporary protection status, and there are about 6.5 million Ukrainians in Europe overall. And from among these people, we can expect that within two years after the end of the war, between 200,000 and 1 million Ukrainians will return,” he said.
Earlier, a study showed that fewer than half of Ukrainian refugees plan to return home after the war.
It is worth recalling that Ukrainian sailors freed by the Americans did not want to return to Ukraine.
