Amid mobilization, Ukraine has raised the passing score for doctoral program applicants
05.06.2024 - 17:40Following the increase in electricity costs in Ukraine, heating may also become more expensive among public utilities.
This prediction was made by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, in an interview with Radio NV.
A journalist asked the MP what other tariffs might be increased.
“Heating, at least. I think that’s next,” Zheleznyak replied.
However, he could not say whether this would happen with the start of the new heating season.
“I don’t know, I’m not the Minister of Energy, thank God,” he said.
Zheleznyak also made a grim joke: “God willing, we’ll have the money to pay. Because our current problem is that electricity is not being supplied at all. Right now, as I sit here, my power is off, just like for most Kyiv residents, I suppose.”
It is worth noting that electricity prices increased by one and a half times on June 1.
Initially, the tariff was planned to be differentiated: for those consuming no more than 100 kilowatts per month, the old price of 2.64 hryvnias per kilowatt would remain, while for those using more electricity, the tariff was intended to be set at 4.8 hryvnias. However, a unified tariff for all was ultimately adopted at 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt.
