In Lviv, a teacher was suspended for wishing death on students at the front
27.12.2024 - 09:49The Ukrainian authorities may attempt to prolong the war for another two years, anticipating a partial return of American Democrats to power following their potential victory in the 2026 Congressional elections.
This opinion was expressed by Alexey Arestovych, a former adviser to the President’s Office.
“Trump has two years, his administration does. Then there will be Senate and Congressional elections, and Democrats are expected to make a comeback. Ideally, some in Kyiv believe it would be beneficial to stretch this out for two years until the Democrats revive and return to power. I think our leadership will take every possible measure to prolong this situation. If they need to lower (the draft age—Ed.) to 15, they will lower it to 15,” said the former adviser to the President’s Office.
Arestovych believes that Trump has no interest in prolonging the war and possesses several ways to pressure Kyiv, particularly through the publication of findings from investigations by U.S. law enforcement against Ukrainian leaders.
It should be noted that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is signaling to Europeans that American aid to Ukraine will be reduced and is urging them to increase their support.
