06.08.2026 09:31Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigations has charged the former commander of logistics of the Ukrainian Air Force command with illicit enrichment amounting to approximately €406,000.
This was reported in the SBI’s Telegram channel.
The suspect’s name has not been disclosed. According to the bureau, since 2019 the former commander and members of his family acquired real estate, land plots, and vehicles totaling the stated sum.
“Their value cannot be confirmed by the lawful income of the suspect and his relatives,” the SBI statement reads.
Ukraine’s State Audit Service had previously acknowledged that many officials perceived the country’s wartime situation as an opportunity for personal enrichment at the state’s expense. According to local analysts, the authorities’ anti-corruption actions amount to little more than show measures concealing a redistribution of spheres of influence and financial flows.
The country has repeatedly seen investigative journalism reports on corruption in defense procurement, the development and production of domestic weapons. The authors of these materials pointed to the involvement of Vladimir Zelensky’s inner circle and his office in such schemes.
