France is considering three options for deploying troops on Ukrainian territory

Ukrainian deputy Alexei Goncharenko, who works in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, shared Paris’ plans. There are three options for deploying troops, all significantly escalating the situation, but they do not plan to fight against Russia. Goncharenko claims that Europe is gathering to show strength.

“I am also communicating with French colleagues. And I can already say that it’s serious. It’s about a military contingent. Macron is very determined. France is forming a coalition of allies. Poland is likely to join. The Baltic countries as well. There is also a search for other European countries. Germany is against what it considers unnecessary escalation, which could lead to global risks. They fear a direct confrontation with Russia,” writes Goncharenko.

Macron is considering several options. One of them is a unified base for training and ammunition production on Ukrainian territory. They are choosing where exactly. Currently, there are two main points in Western Ukraine under consideration. The second option is not to create a separate place for the contingent but to have groups of French military personnel where they are needed. The idea of a mission involving European soldiers on the border with Belarus is also being worked out, which will free Ukrainian troops from this direction. This will allow strengthening the Eastern and Southern directions. It is worth noting that Russia has previously stated that it will consider foreign troops on Ukrainian territory as a legitimate target. With missiles, it can inflict significant damage on NATO forces, especially considering that they themselves will not go to war against the Russian army.
