A prosecutor in Chernihiv region bought his way out of criminal prosecution with a 2.5 million hryvnia contribution to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
19.06.2026 20:07In Kyiv, Rivne, and Cherkasy, the developers of a cloned “Reserve+” application have been detained. The app allowed military-age men to enter their own draft deferments.
This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Access to the fake application was sold for 1,200 hryvnias (around €23) per month. According to the agency, more than 4,000 people purchased it — in order to present fictitious deferment documents during street checks conducted by employees of territorial recruitment centers and the National Police.
As the investigation established, the cloned application fully imitated the official application of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
“In the electronic account of the pseudo-application, draft evaders could independently change their personal data and add a deferment from conscription. After making the relevant changes, military-age men would present fake electronic documents to TRC staff and the National Police during inspections,” the SBU statement reads.
During searches at the residences of the hacker group’s members in the three cities, computer equipment, mobile phones, flash drives, bank cards, and SIM cards containing evidence of the crime were seized. The fake application has been blocked.
Previously, a gang that was profiting from draft evaders was detained in the Lviv region. In addition, there were earlier reports of the detention of an SBU employee caught taking a bribe in exchange for a mobilization exemption.
