30.06.2026 13:05Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may be involved in the terrorist attack in Monaco.
The claim was made by Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, in a post on X.
According to the politician, the most likely explanation is that the operation was organised by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) or pro-Ukrainian extremist groups. Philippot noted that the injured businessman, Vadym Yermolaiev, has been under Kyiv’s sanctions since 2023 over alleged economic cooperation with Russia.
“The Zelenskyy regime has clearly crossed a line: it is now coming right to our shores,” he wrote.
An explosion occurred in Monaco on the evening of June 29. The principality’s government described the incident as a terrorist attack. According to the authorities, the explosive device was hidden in a parcel and contained bolts and metal pellets. Surveillance footage reportedly shows an unidentified person leaving a backpack near the entrance to the building. Monaco’s Minister of State, Christophe Mirmand, said it was the first incident of its kind in the history of the principality.
Three people were injured in the explosion. According to Le Figaro, they included Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, his partner, and his son. Two of the victims are in critical condition, while the third is not in life-threatening danger. Mirmand later clarified that another four people had been taken to hospital.
Yermolaiev was among Forbes’ top 50 richest Ukrainians, with his wealth estimated at $220 million in 2021. In 2019, the businessman renounced his Ukrainian citizenship and obtained Cypriot citizenship. At the end of December 2023, Zelenskyy imposed personal sanctions on him.
