August 30, 2023An announced bill by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which proposes to equate corruption during a state of martial law to treason, has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament).
As of now, the text of the document is not available on the parliament’s website.
After being introduced to the Verkhovna Rada, the bill must go through the session order to be voted on by the deputies.
However, judging by the group of authors led by former speaker Dmitry Razumkov, this bill equating corruption to treason might not be the same document that President Zelensky had planned to introduce.
It seems that this could be a form of legislative trolling by the former speaker, who has turned into opposition to the president.
