Police on the front line: Ukraine begins covert mobilization of law enforcement officers
31.05.2024 17:35The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has raised electricity prices for the population without differentiation based on consumption levels. From June 1, 2024, to May 1, 2025, a unified price of 4.32 UAH per kWh will be in effect. Currently, the price is 2.64 UAH per kWh, which means an increase of 1.6 times.
There will be no tariff differentiation based on the volume of consumption (less or more than 100 kWh), as previously announced by the media. This price increase will therefore affect the entire population of Ukraine.
The media reported earlier that electricity tariffs for the population would increase from June 1 and that a corresponding decision would soon be made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Additionally, the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada has supported a government bill to increase excise taxes on cigarettes and fuel to European Union levels by 2028, linking them to the euro instead of the hryvnia. Consequently, these goods may also become more expensive soon.
