Without the resumption of US assistance, Ukraine will have to decide which cities it can hold – Pentagon
February 21, 2024Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, there have been almost no fortifications in Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Bakhmut, or Avdiivka.
This was stated by MP Mariana Bezuhla on her Facebook page.
“Generals did not plan or supervise. Reports say otherwise, of course,” she wrote.
According to Bezuhla, attempts to organize positions “systematically” were made only in Bakhmut.
“But it turned out unsystematic. For example, when our troops withdrew on the eastern bank of the river (behind the Bakhmutka), they positioned themselves behind fortifications, not on prepared lines,” she said.
The MP claims that fortified positions were built in Bakhmut at the “western entrance to the city, so that the leadership could see.” Meanwhile, the Russians were advancing from the east.
Bezuhla writes that an inexperienced brigade was sent to eliminate the Russian breakthrough from the east in Bakhmut, and no one from the military leadership visited them.
“Neither the battalion commander, nor the brigade commander, nor the general ever went there. They had no real spatial understanding but sent people into battle,” the MP said.
