October 1, 2024In Chernivtsi, a court fined an employee of the territorial recruitment center 850 hryvnias (18.5 euros) for assaulting a man during an attempt to deliver a military summons.
This information is stated in the verdict of the Sadgora District Court of Chernivtsi, as recorded in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
It was reported that the military commissar, while attempting to deliver the summons, engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim, after which he struck the man on the back of the head with his palm.
The court found the employee of the territorial recruitment center guilty of committing a criminal offense. The accused fully admitted his guilt and received a penalty of 850 hryvnias (18.5 euros) as a fine.
Earlier, a legal precedent emerged in Ukraine regarding the illegality of mobilizing conscripts under 25 years of age.
This verdict was issued by a court on September 20 after reviewing a case involving the unlawful mobilization of a 23-year-old man. According to the court’s decision, during martial law, those eligible for mobilization must be at least 25 years old, or they should have completed mandatory military service or studied at a military department and be in reserve.
It was also reported that in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, two military commissars were fined 17,000 hryvnias (370 euros) for forcibly detaining a man.
