“Zelensky lied about the 45,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces casualties,” – Ukrainian MP Dubinsky
08.02.2025 12:32The debate over deploying Western peacekeepers to Ukraine is “inappropriate and premature”.
This information reported according to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an interview with RND.
He stated that negotiations to end the conflict should begin.
“First, the conflict must be brought to an end, and real negotiations—not an imposed peace—should start. Only then can we see what future security guarantees for Ukraine might look like,” Scholz said.
The chancellor noted that Ukraine is unlikely to regain some of its lost territories, but making decisions “over the heads of the Ukrainian people” is unacceptable.
“I consider such debates inappropriate and premature because they assume that Ukraine will not regain parts of its territory from Russia,” he stated.
Scholz also emphasized that after the war, “Ukraine will have an army that it cannot finance solely with its own resources; we and all of Ukraine’s friends will be called upon to help.”
Meanwhile, dissatisfaction with the idea of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine is growing within the European Union.
