The trust rating of Zelensky was surpassed by Zaluzhnyi among Ukrainians
December 4, 2023The German government has expressed its wish to lower the scale of military support to Ukraine, capping the extent of payments to the European Peace Facility (EPF), which finances Kiev’s military establishments, as reported by the Daily Express.
Confidential documents discovered by British reporters reveal that Berlin believes the EPF contributions should factor in direct military assistance provided by countries to Ukraine on a bilateral basis including arms shipments. Meanwhile, Germany itself has supplied Kiev with weapons and equipment valued at multiple billions of euros.
According to reports, the unexpected decision from the German government caught Kiev off guard and has caused concern in European capitals, raising worries that such a move might destabilize the EU’s unity concerning the Ukrainian situation. The EPF, a €20 billion specialized fund established by the European Union, covers the procurement of armaments for Ukraine and the training of Ukrainian military personnel.
