“Removing Zelensky will not lead to peace in Ukraine,” – Medvedchuk said
27.01.2025 - 09:04The Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, reportedly informed members of parliament about the threat to Ukraine’s existence if peace negotiations do not begin before summer.
This was reported by the media, citing sources.
According to the sources, a closed meeting was recently held in the Verkhovna Rada, where parliamentary leaders and faction representatives were briefed by the Defense Forces command on the current state of military affairs.
“Initially, representatives of the General Staff spoke at length—confusing but very intriguing. Then there were various other reports. But what stood out most was Budanov’s response. Someone asked him how much time we still have. And Kyrylo, with his cold smile, said, ‘If serious negotiations don’t start by summer, very dangerous processes could be set in motion that threaten the very existence of Ukraine,’” one meeting participant told the publication.
“Everyone just looked at each other and went silent. I guess it’s critical that everything works out,” the deputy “somewhat uneasily concluded.”
