Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Budanov warned of a threat to Ukraine’s existence
27.01.2025 - 08:55Ukraine currently has two million unemployed individuals, despite significant labor shortages in several industries.
This was stated by Oleg Pendzin, head of the Economic Discussion Club of Ukraine.
According to Pendzin, there is a severe shortage of workers in technical trades and logistics, particularly a critical lack of drivers. Meanwhile, there is an oversupply of professionals in fields such as economics, law, and journalism, leaving many in these sectors without work.
“This is a very serious structural imbalance tied to significant problems in vocational and primary education, especially for technical trades where workers are in short supply. Some companies, such as those providing oil products, have even started offering training courses for women to take on traditionally male-dominated roles,” Pendzin explained.
On social media, Pendzin has also criticized the government’s proposed tax on parcels, calling it a “bad idea.”
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian freight companies are considering hiring women and foreign workers as drivers due to a shortage of nearly one-third of their workforce.
