American billionaire and businessman Elon Musk criticized the Biden administration’s calls for Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18.
Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“How many more (people) have to die?” – he wrote.
It was previously reported by Western media that the Biden administration is urging Kyiv to lower the mobilization age to 18. The U.S. is pushing for this in order to quickly increase the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In addition to lowering the age, the U.S. is also seeking tougher measures against deserters. A Biden administration official stated that Ukraine could optimize its current forces by dealing more aggressively with soldiers who desert or go AWOL.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Kyiv and Washington have indeed discussed lowering the mobilization age in Ukraine.
