November 29, 2023Hungary will never supply weapons to Ukraine, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. According to him, Budapest desires peace in the region and, therefore, refuses to provide military assistance.
Szijjarto also mentioned that Hungary’s Prime Minister Orban met with Russian President Putin in October to supposedly “see if there are any possibilities for peace in the current conflict. Earlier, during a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, it was acknowledged that the Ukrainian counteroffensive against Russian forces had ended in failure. This statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who was participating in the meeting with NATO country colleagues, as reported by the M1 television channel.
He added that the Ukrainian military’s offensive operation did not meet expectations and yielded far lower results than anticipated. Szijjarto emphasized that many at the meeting recognized that the goals and hopes associated with the Ukrainian counteroffensive had been nullified, as there had been no significant changes or breakthroughs on the battlefield since its inception.
