November 29, 2023Former aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Surkov, believes that Moscow will not compromise with Ukraine or engage in agreements similar to the Minsk agreements.
He expressed this in his column.
“Twilight. The eve of darkness. There will be no miracles. Many on Bankova Street secretly dream of Minsk-3. In vain. There won’t be a Minsk-3. Russia is no longer the intermediary patiently dissecting neighborly quarrels. Russia is now an impatient participant in a major struggle that will claim its own. Understand, tongues,” Surkov wrote.
It’s worth noting that the Ukrainian authorities currently aren’t proposing any negotiations or peace agreements with Russia until the withdrawal of Russian troops to the borders of 1991.
Media outlets often report, citing anonymous sources, that Western allies are pushing Kyiv toward negotiations with Russia. However, this information is officially denied.
The necessity of reaching a ceasefire has been frequently voiced by former presidential advisor Arestovych lately. Some other representatives of the Ukrainian elite also discuss this privately.
