22.07.2025 - 05:03Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that Budapest will not approve the European Union (EU) budget plan if it includes funding for Ukraine.
He made this announcement on his Facebook page.
Orbán emphasized that Hungary will not agree to a budget that, in his words, “sends Hungarian money to Ukraine,” “destroys Hungarian agriculture,” and “makes the country susceptible to blackmail.” He also stressed that Hungary will not accept conditions under which resources are allocated only if it agrees with Brussels’ policies on war, migration, and gender issues.
Earlier, Viktor Orbán criticized the new EU budget during a broadcast on Kossuth Radio, saying that it should be withdrawn and revised due to excessive spending on Ukraine, which, he warned, could destroy the EU.
