24.07.2024 - 10:06If Donald Trump wins the U.S. presidential election, he is likely to reduce military aid to Ukraine and push Kyiv towards a “peace agreement” favorable to Russia.
This information reported according to The TIME.
Officials in Kyiv have spent months analyzing the potential consequences of a Trump victory for their war with Russia. Many fear that his respectful attitude towards autocrats like Vladimir Putin and his “transactional” approach to foreign policy could spell disaster for Ukraine. However, not all predictions are “as dire as might be expected.”
“The first eight or ten months, essentially all of 2025, will be very difficult (if Trump wins),” a senior Ukrainian official told TIME on condition of anonymity.
According to the official, Trump is likely to cut military aid to Ukraine and push President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept a peace agreement that heavily favors Russia.

It is also noted that, like previous U.S. presidents, Trump may try to reset relations with Vladimir Putin at the start of his term.
The publication writes that while trying to persuade Trump and his potential vice president, J.D. Vance, Ukrainians are also counting on the support of allies in Europe and the American military-industrial complex, which could profit enormously from continuing to produce weapons for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
“They can explain to Trump why this benefits many people in America, especially in the ‘red’ states that support Republicans. It creates jobs and supports the economy,” the Ukrainian official added.
Previously, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that former U.S. President and now Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump could end the war on terms favorable to Ukraine and the West.
