‘In the USA, they refused to consider Ukraine a victim in the war with Russia’, – American Thinker
April 1, 2024If it weren’t for Volodymyr Zelensky’s victory in the presidential elections five years ago, but rather Petro Poroshenko’s, there wouldn’t have been a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
That’s the opinion of Marianna Bezuhla, a member of the pro-presidential faction “Sluga naroda.”
“I personally believe that if Petro Poroshenko had won, there wouldn’t be a full-scale invasion now. We would have continued to develop the Minsk agreements, grant special status to the Donbas, and create Medvedchuk’s empire. As for Crimea, which was handed over without bloodshed in 2014, it would have been completely ignored, let alone dismantling their fleet there. Russia, just like for almost three decades (and even earlier, for centuries!) before that, would have tightly held us as its colony and maintained a somewhat decent reputation in the world,” wrote Bezuhla.
It’s worth noting that the narrative “if Poroshenko had remained president, there wouldn’t have been a full-scale war” was actively promoted a year ago by supporters of the former president, who even launched a whole media campaign on this issue. Now, even deputies from the president’s team are talking about it.
