‘The US will not assist Europe in case of a military threat’, – says CEO of Rheinmetall in an interview with FT

The United States will not come to Europe’s aid in the event of a military threat.

This was stated by the CEO of the German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, in an interview with the Financial Times.

“This will not happen again,” Papperger said, referring to the fact that in recent decades, European leaders have relied on US assistance in the event of a military threat.

He emphasized that American authorities have clearly indicated that they will no longer pay for the defense of allies. The head of the conglomerate added that currently, the United States is more focused on the Asia-Pacific region.

Papperger pointed out that in the event of a military threat, Europe “will be completely alone.” He urged European countries to create large groups of defense companies that could compete with American ones.
