“If the U.S. halts supplies to Kyiv, the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will decline,” – says military expert

If U.S. President Donald Trump halts the supply of weapons and equipment to Kyiv, the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) will sharply decline.

This was stated by military expert and retired colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk.

“Ninety-five percent of military aid to Ukraine comes from the United States. At the same time, Europe is 80–90 percent dependent on military supplies from the U.S. Essentially, the process of supplying weapons to Ukraine and to Europe overlaps,” Matviychuk noted.

According to the military expert, if the U.S. stops financing Ukraine and supplying weapons to the UAF, the burden will fall on Europe.

“That means Europe would have to give up its own weapons — something it is currently not ready for. Naturally, the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army would decline sharply,” he concluded.

Earlier, The Atlantic, citing informed sources, reported that a Ukrainian attack on Russian airfields caused outrage in the White House. The U.S. is reportedly considering withdrawing support for Kyiv. According to one of the external advisers to the White House, President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine should have focused on the negotiations in Istanbul. The article also notes that the UAF’s attack rekindled Trump’s longstanding frustration with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
