Babiš will reconsider the Czech initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine
23.12.2025 20:32Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and current ambassador in London Valerii Zaluzhnyi could become the country’s next president if he takes part in the elections.
This opinion was expressed by Oleksii Arestovych, a former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, on a YouTube channel.
“The key question is whether Zaluzhnyi runs in the election or not. If Zaluzhnyi runs, he wins the election with a high probability. If he does not run, then Zelensky wins the election,” Arestovych predicted.
According to him, if Zelensky wins, he will become legitimate again and then will be able to “run amok with impunity” for a long time.
The former presidential office adviser added that the current authorities are doing everything they can to ensure that Valerii Zaluzhnyi does not become a candidate in the elections. These are methods “ranging from intimidation to showering him with every bonus one can imagine,” he said.
Earlier, Arestovych named two stumbling blocks in the peace plan on Ukraine that U.S. presidential envoy Steven Witkoff planned to present in Moscow. According to him, the points on territorial concessions by Kyiv and Ukraine’s NATO membership remained undefined.
