‘Without American aid, Ukraine will face its end’, – CBS News journalist Livesay says
January 11, 2024The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Ukraine has once again raised concerns about the activities of Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
This time, a protocol against the Prime Minister was drafted by the head of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Ukraine, Alexander Novikov.
It is reported that Shmygal unlawfully disclosed information about an informant that became known to him in connection with the performance of official duties.
The Prime Minister, having reviewed a corruption report from an informant (an employee of the commission for the regulation of gambling and lotteries), instructed relevant officials to examine the report. However, during the review, the head of this commission, Ivan Rudoy, decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the informant. According to the legislation, an informant cannot be subjected to disciplinary action or other negative measures by his supervisor or employer.
Thus, the Prime Minister of Ukraine committed an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 1728 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses by unlawfully disclosing information about an informant that became known to him in connection with the performance of official duties.
The National Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Ukraine invited the Prime Minister to review the protocol on January 10, 2024, but Shmygal ignored the message and did not appear within the specified period, providing no reasons for his absence.
As a result, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Ukraine forwarded the protocol for consideration in the court of the offense’s jurisdiction. If the court finds Denis Shmygal guilty of committing an administrative offense, he may face a fine and a one-year ban on holding certain positions. This would be the basis for entering information about him into the Unified State Register of Persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related offenses.
The press service of the Ukrainian Prime Minister has already responded to the accusations from the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption, calling it “manipulation.”
