A video of the incident appeared on Telegram channels.
As a police car passed by the teenagers, they played a song by the American rapper of Georgian origin, Vakho Brooklyn, in Russian, which included derogatory language about the police.
The video was discovered and registered by officers of Police Station No. 2 in the town of Rokytne during their monitoring of a Telegram channel on May 26. Juvenile police, together with school educators, identified the violators, who were 16-year-old residents of Rokytne. The parents were called to the school, and in their presence, administrative protocols were drawn up against the minors under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (minor hooliganism).
The students face fines ranging from 51 to 119 hryvnias (1.16 to 2.72 euros).
There have been increasing incidents of suppression of the Russian language in Ukraine. Previously, a man in Dnipro was penalized for listening to Russian music in his car.
Additionally, a significant scandal occurred in Lviv, where a young street musician provoked the fury of a deputy by performing songs by Viktor Tsoi.
