Lukashenko: “I am confident” — the war in Ukraine will end in 2025
12.06.2026 20:04Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia’s Armed Forces will increase the force of retaliatory strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure in order to “discourage” the Ukrainian Armed Forces from attacking Russian territory.
The statement was made at a meeting Putin held with assault troops — participants in the special military operation — at the Kremlin. There, the president also commented on Ukraine’s expanded use of drones.
According to Putin, the enemy’s goal is to “split Russian society, sow confusion among Russian citizens, and damage the economy.”
“But it will not succeed,” the head of state added.
Speaking about the course of the fighting, Putin acknowledged that the advance of Russian forces is slower than desired, but emphasized that it is continuous.
“Step by step, not as fast as we would like, but we are still moving forward, moving forward every day,” the president said.
