16.04.2024 22:28Funds for the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine are insufficient, and part of the weaponry may not arrive until the end of the year.
This information comes from the Czech publication iRozhlas, citing Estonian authorities.
According to Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur, although several countries have already contributed, there is still a funding gap. Additionally, the proposed ammunition requires inspection, so some of it may not reach the front lines until the end of the year.
According to the latest information provided by iRozhlas, around 1.5 million rounds have been found for Ukraine, twice as much as expected. However, due to high demand, the market price of weapons has also doubled.
The publication notes that Prague has so far received funds from allies to purchase the first 300,000 rounds, with another 500,000 in development. The initial deliveries to Ukraine are expected to take place no later than June.
