16.04.2024 22:48The Ukrainian Consulate in London is implementing restrictions on issuing biometric passports. It is creating a separate electronic queue for Ukrainian citizens whose biometric passports have expired or will expire by the end of June.
This was announced in the Consulate’s Telegram channel.
Consulate staff are asking the following categories of citizens not to register:
- Individuals with valid passports who want to apply for a second one.
- Individuals who have lost their biometric passport.
- Those applying for passports for children under 16 years old.
- Ukrainian citizens residing in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

It is worth noting that obtaining a second passport is currently the most popular service for men who do not want to deal with Ukrainian embassies and consulates after the stricter mobilization law came into effect. The law requires presenting a military ID to obtain a biometric passport abroad.
Recently, it was reported that obtaining a passport abroad can now only be done by prior electronic appointment. These changes apply to all branches of the state enterprise “Document” in Poland, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, and Turkey.
Telegram channels have also published videos showing queues for biometric passports in EU countries of Ukrainian citizens who want to obtain passports before the mobilization law comes into effect.
