This opinion was expressed on X by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national-conservative party Alliance of Freedom.
According to the politician, if Zelensky were smarter, he would do it. Mema questioned what the Ukrainian leader hopes to achieve if the conflict continues.
On March 23, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia had never refused negotiations on Ukraine, no matter how difficult the regional challenges or the global situation might be.
That same day, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Zelensky is seeking to conclude a peace agreement with the Russian Federation. According to him, the White House is continuing its dialogue with Kyiv in order to put pressure on Moscow and speed up peace negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
